Cap VERLAESSIG BMW
Hat from the VERLAESSIG collection! BMW, emphasizing the passion for the brand in a historical perspective.
Herbert Schlenzig shaped the language of images in BMW's internal communication like no other artist, not so much as an advertising graphic designer, but more as a brilliant draftsman. For several decades, he created detailed technical drawings of engines, transmissions and components helping young mechanics achieve legendary efficiency. His teaching boards for students almost resemble perspective, beautifully refined architectural drawings. Herbert Schlenzig allows us to see the beauty of technical forms. For him, information and decoration are not opposites, but a coherent expression of useful art. Its isometries allow you to see fascinating details of the parts hidden inside the BMW.
In 1935, the brilliant cartoonist also created a design for the advertising poster "VERLAESSIG! BMW" - emphasizing the brand's reliability. The universal language of the poster has stood the test of time, and although the design was created nearly 90 years earlier, its use today remains relevant. A yellow background with an outlined hand with a symbolic gesture enriched with the timeless BMW logo - Thanks to this reduced graphic, the poster was ahead of its time and was never published in the form of an advertisement. Today, reaching back to its roots, BMW has created an entire Lifestyle collection based on this suggestive graphic, and the presented cap is an integral part of it.
